Surgical Options
If Dr. Greenhaw recommends surgery, you will be able to speak with our surgical coordinator, who will help you choose a convenient date. She will go over all the necessary instructions about the procedure that Dr. Greenhaw has recommended and answer any questions you may have about your surgery. Before your surgery date arrives, we will verify your insurance benefits and give you an estimate of your financial responsibility.
Dr. Greenhaw does most surgery at the Ambulatory Surgical Center at South Georgia Medical Center:
- Cataract Surgery using the ReStor Multifocal IOL and Acrysof Toric IOL, as well as the Acrysof IQ standard monofocal IOL
- Strabismus Surgery to correct esotropia (eyes turning in) and exotropia (eyes turning out)
- Tear Duct Probing and Irrigation
- Pterygium Excision
He also performs multiple procedures in the office:
- Posterior Capsulotomy using the YAG Laser (for treatment of “secondary cataract”)
- Argon Laser Trabeculoplasty (to treat open angle glaucoma)
- Laser Peripheral Iridectomy (to treat narrow angle or angle closure glaucoma)
- Removal of benign eyelid lesions
- Incision and Drainage of Chalazions
- Pan-Retinal Photocoagulation Laser (PRP) for treatment of Proliferative Diabetic Retinopathy
- Focal Laser Therapy (FLT) for treatment of Background Diabetic Retinopathy
